Two Year Post-Graduate Programme in Agri & Food Business Management
The Objectives
MITCOM aims at providing an innovative and practical value based knowledge to the aspiring students in the field of agriculture and food technology with the application of latest technology backing.
The major objectives of the program are:
Course curriculum is designed so as to enable the students develop adequate information on different subject areas of relevance
Acquire sufficient operating skills in using modern management tools and techniques in different operating areas of Agri & Food business.
The course would also provide knowledge about various complexities, challenges, dynamics and opportunities of Agri business and food technology in the emerging global context.
The Edge
Agri and Food business professionals need to be exposed about the rural environment, agri-inputs sales, promotion, application and distribution systems, agricultural production, processing and marketing system, natural resources, and various constraints faced by the farmers.
Keeping this in mind the Institute has decided to arrange visits to understand the ground realities of agriculture and agribusiness.
The visit will cover local institutions, agribusiness company dealerships, food processing plants, rural hats, agricultural fields and practices, rural credits, processing, marketing and various non-farm activities.
This will supplement the theoretical learning in classrooms with practical experience.
Emphases on practical and contextualization course are oriented to the context of Agri & Food business.
Courses are offered in important sectors of Agri & Food business as well as in functional areas.
Eminent personalities and the practicing Techno-Managers from the Agro and food industry and agro and food research organization as faculty members.
Project work directly relevant to future job oriented and project work experiences provided exclusively in Agri & Food business related organizations.
We will provide full support to those students who want to start his/her own processing unit as Ministry of Food Processing Industries-Govt of India and Govt. of Maharastra have started different schemes to provide grant as well as subsidies up to 50% of the total investment for new food processing unit.
